Side Seam Moccasins

Uno dei modelli più diffusi di mocassini era quello ricavato da un unico pezzo di pelle. Esso è definito in inglese "Side Seam" proprio perchè l'unica cucitura corre lungo il lato esterno per poi chiudere la parte al calcagno dello stesso.
Erano mocassini molto usati nelle foreste e poi, forse dopo che i primi abitanti delle Woodlands raggiunsero quelle zone come scouts, anche dai Blackfoot, Nez Percè, Crows e nel Plateau in generale.
Il mio lavoro non è ancora finito ma queste sono le varie foto che documentano l'avanzamento del progetto.
Il mocassino originale da cui questo è ripreso apparteneva probabilmente alla "Tobacco Society" dei Crow.

One of the most popular moccasins pattern was obtained from a single piece of hide. In English It's defined "Side Seam" 'cause the only seam runs along the outer side to close the heel part of it. The side seam moccasins were widely used in the Woodlands and then, maybe after the first inhabitants of those areas reached new territories as white mens scouts even by the Blackfoot, Nez Perce, Crows and Plateau in general. My work is not finished yet but these are several photos to document the progress of the project. The original moccasin from which this one is taken probably belonged to the Crow "Tobacco Society".
